it's the weekend

happy days.....the weekend is hereit's time to get outside, do some more walking, conquer some more hills, prepare the house and garden for our absence, do some more planning and take time to breathe......ahhh!

did I miss something?

I'd like to be here...down by the river, having some quiet time...away from the rush...hiding amongst the reeds...watching the world go by...

I think I missed some days....maybe I'll have a last week splurge and keep up with blogtoberfest. but don't hold your breath...I'm not so good at this!

in a tight spot

missed another day and wondering if I can keep up with blogtober and posting everyday. back to work this week has put a spanner in the works as it's REALLY busy and I'm trying to get organised for our trip....only three weeks away. what to do? give up now or keep plugging away? so much to do.....

monday moments

back to work today, but only three and a half weeks and then we are off the Nepal and India. the rain continues but when I got home from work it was clear enough for an hour's walk. found this sign recently when out walking....it really made me laugh!

still raining

oh oh! another day missed....I'm not doing very well with this posting every day. it seems this wet weather just doesn't know when to stop. it's still raining and my garden is looking very water logged. but it's not all bad news...last weekend I was at the Yamba Quota Club annual craft fair and the wet weather was very good for business. and to be honest I really like rainy weather. I just don't like it when it rains so much that it floods - although that has it's fun moments too! but I don't think that's on the horizon for us at the moment although it has been for some people not so far away. hope everyone's doing OK.

letters and numbers

oops - I missed a day....walking each day gives you lots of time to notice things in your environment. have you noticed how many letters and numbers are around you? even out of urban areas there's still lots....on signs, to indicate water valves, house numbers, on the road, found objects left along the way.....these photos are just a few of the numbers and letters I photographed this morning with my phone camera. what do you see where you live?

finding flowers

as I'm walking each day I'm noticing the wild flowers - some would call them weeds (but not me!) - along the sides of the roads and lanes around my place. morning glory, clover, dandelions, plantain, scotch thistles and lots of others I can't put a name to. all pretty and ready to be brought home to a vase.......these images were taken with my camera phone.

raining

it's been raining cats and dogs here for the last few days. thankfully today it's eased off....yesterday it bucketed down. this morning on my walk I was told by someone who lives close by that we have had over 12 inches of rain in the last three days- wow! at the moment the sun is out and the wind is blowing so I guess it's just about gone now. just a little drizzle now. at least I got out for my morning's walk again today. the real cats and dogs are much happier now that the rain has gone....they were feeling very sad that they couldn't get outside to play.

I've joined blogtoberfest (a little late) hosted by Cathy at tinniegirl . the idea is that each day for the month of october you write a post on your blog....yep every single day.....on anything you like. it's just what my blog needs at the moment as it's been sorely neglected lately. so to start off here's a couple of pics of some poppies from my garden. they have been so pretty this year....and yes I've been stealing some from my mum's garden as well! don't tell her....shhh! see you tomorrow....and don't forget to pop on over to tinniegirl to see who else is participating in blogtober
