

the weather here has been so hot lately. my garden is looking very shabby because I haven't weeded for weeks...and until it cools down a bit it's not likely to happen any moment soon! in admist the weeds though are some treasures like these beautiful artichokes I planted over two years ago. they have only beared fruit this year and I can't say I'm impressed with eating fresh artichokes (but I love marinated ones) but oh! the flowers...how gorgeous!

(p.s. - try them boiled, and served with a bearnaise sauce)
