back again!

the computer is fixed again. actually it was fixed earlier this week but it's been busy, busy, busy at work and home so I couldn't find time to post here or even read others blogs this past week. hopefully things will settle down a little next week. I've been playing with photoshop this afternoon so here's a couple of the results. thinking these would look good printed out and used in some textile work. they were taken in the grand bazaar on our trip in 2008....I never tire of looking at these photos. so many memories and good times.

moments of prayer

two posts in one day! more photos from Istanbul last year. prior to entering the mosques for prayer people wash themselves in a particular manner. we were privileged to be allowed to watch this quietly from a distance. amazing to think that these taps and stools have helped people to perform this ritual cleansing for centuries....

travel moments

too long since i last posted...I've been busy lately - craft fair and family matters - but now it's home time and holidays, so hopefully lots of time to blog.

this time last year we were wandering the cobbled streets of Istanbul and savouring the delights of the grand bazaar, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, carpet sellers, spice sellers...and listening to the sounds of the call to prayer five times a day often beginning around 5am. a wondeful city which I long to return to. here are some pictures I took in the grand bazaar....a visual feast.
