I was busy updating one of my little shops Magpie Finds on the weekend. lots of goodies still to get listed but here are a few ideas of what you can find there at the moment.

hello 2012

hello 2012. I'm back from my little blog holiday (which I didn't realise I was going to have but life got in the way!)....hope that 2012 has started in a wonderful way for you.

 can you guess what I've been up to these past weeks? yep......up to my ears in sorting, washing, photographing, cutting, ironing...getting lots of goodies organised for Magpie Finds

 I have been collecting "stuff" for so long now and it's taken me ages to sort through it all and prepare it all so it's bright and shiny ready to go out in the world.

but I haven't been ignoring the rest of the world. I've been doing lots of blog reading, spending my holidays indulging in beautiful images, going to concerts, planning and dreaming for 2012,  and generally refreshing my batteries....lots to tell but that might wait til next time. x

here is the third instalment in my book 'six of my favourite things'...mother of pearl buttons. I love the colour, texture and shine of these little treasures. I love the way they look when there's lots of them together...on a piece of paper, card or piece of fabric. I love the way they look in a pretty glass jar. I love to get them out and play with them...just like playing with buttons when I was a little girl. aaah...still a little girl at heart! happy valentines day everyone.

treasure hunting

out this morning treasure hunting in my local op shops...love it! found lots of goodies...these lovely handmade ceramic bowls for 20c each, pretty embroidered blouse for future projects, old kitchen knife/thingy (love the patina of old kitchen utensils), some curtain lace pieces, a bright sheet I will use to cover the chairs on my verandah which are becoming a bit worse for wear, books, some dvds, some clothes, old cutlery, magazines, a wooden thingy (not sure what it is but I like the shape and patina), and of course some buttons...I always come home with buttons from my op shop forays! luckily my son is at his father's today or I'd get the usual comment as I walk in the door laden with goodies..."and where are you going to put that crap mum?!!!"... they just don't understand!

listed some new things in both shops yesterday...creations from my week at play. The journals are embellished with the paper fabric I made and some cute watch faces and can be found here and the garlands are in my vintage shop Lily Loves Vintage. I need to list the birdies, xmas trees and hearts yet which I made from vintage fabrics and notions.
