autumn in the UK

autumn leaves on the grass near Buckingham Palace. can you see the squirrels hanging on the fence after the food?!
autumn coloured lichen growing on the rocks at Land's End. it was actually more like winter down here....freezing winds off the Atlantic Ocean
and to celebrate my last post welcoming autumn, some fireworks from Guy Fawkes night in Penzance....which also celebrated our final night in Cornwall...one of my most favourite parts of the world
I hope you've enjoyed my week of autumn celebrations....I'd love to hear what's your favourite time of year...

autumn in Prague

our trip to europe in 2008 was during autumn and we saw some of the most stunning scenery as we travelled to various countries. the autumn light in Prague was soft and hazy and the parks were covered in fallen leaves....

cat moments in europe

we will be away for the next few days...heading to brisbane for some family time. meanwhile here are some cats we saw whilst travelling last year...we seemed to see cats wherever we went...from a cat on every corner, street and doorstep in Istanbul to the odd cat in Belgium. so our trip souvenirs took on a distinct cat theme! we even found a cute shop in Prague called the Cat Gallery - with all things for sale featuring cats of course! the sleepy ones are Cornish mousers who had worked all night we were told...so don't disturb them because they are cranky!!

prague moments

around this time last year we were in Prague - or Praha as it's called in the czech republic. wow... what a beautiful city. castles, cathedrals, centuries old architecture everywhere, wonderful shops, cobblestone streets, cafes, restaurants, great food...the list goes on! I cried as we entered St Vitius cathedral...unbelievably beautiful and so lucky to be there. here are some images from our stay. moments I could easily return to.
