Sketchbook
I haven't been keeping up so well with the sketchbook challenge but here's a couple of doodles from my book completed whilst watching telly. I doodle all the time (sounds like a song title!) - on the phone, in meetings.......I have a folder at work where I keep all the meeting minutes and over the course of a year the cover gets filled up with doodle. some of my work mates are intrigued - I think!
on another note i've been doing an ecourse with kelly rae roberts on growing your creative business. I think we're all just about on information overload - its jam packed with lots of advice and information. into week 2 now and so much to think about.

exhibition moments
the exhibition happened today. it was held in an old house near our place with a small crowd of friends and neigbours. there was lots of interest about my sons work and where his ideas came from and what he has to do now to finish everything off ready to submit.......in two week's time.....eeek! the morning was beautiful as we sipped our coke from wine glasses....remember that his work is base around a certain drink found all over the world?! thanks to everyone who came and encouraged him today.

we had fun
my son is currently doing his HSC and one of his subjects is visual art. he's very interested in street art - banksy, shepard faiery.....- so his works are based on this interest and the impact of big companies in third world countries....one in particular that makes a certain drink marketed all over the world. last sunday we took his art to the streets.....well the streets of our litlle part of the world. we photographed them in various places and I think they look great. next step......a small intimate exhibition in an interesting building in our street.....i'll keep you posted! here's some photos from sunday.

weekend moments
some lovely finds today out garage saling and op shopping. this little square stool is now at home with it's big sister (which I found many moons ago) on the verandah - gorgeous!
and a lovely old book which might get rebound into a sketchbook (love the title), a not negotiable stamp and ink pad, an old dictionary well loved by a former crossword puzzler (lots of little notes inside), and a cribbage board complete with trimmed down matchsticks tucked into the end of the board. do you know how to play cribbage? i've always been curious.......
there was more.......but I think i'll keep them for another day. hope your weekend is great.
