my creative space

old wooden children's blocks are finding new life painted and drawn with words and pictures....I love that these blocks which have been played with for hours are now becoming little works of art

back to work

this week it was back to work for me.....but I did manage to finish off this piece for a round robin textile exchange creating a toran - called Passages of Intrigue - that I am involved in with other ATASDA members. this is my piece for Marj. I also received my own work back this week and I am so thrilled with the work that the members of my group did on it. I will show you some photos over the next few weeks...I now have to put it all together. During my summer holidays I also worked on this small book which I completed a little at a time in between gardening...these photos show the cover and first pages. I purchased the book and it had six page spreads in it with a pocket on each left page. so I decided to call it six of my favourite things...given that my favourite number is six. my first favourite thing is stitching...surprise, surprise!!! stayed tuned for further photos. hope your week was good!

a moment to create

listed some new things in both shops yesterday...creations from my week at play. The journals are embellished with the paper fabric I made and some cute watch faces and can be found here and the garlands are in my vintage shop Lily Loves Vintage. I need to list the birdies, xmas trees and hearts yet which I made from vintage fabrics and notions.

studio moments

last week I spent six lovely days in my studio (that sounds a bit presumptuous given the mess in there!) printing fabrics, dyeing, playing, dancing to music, discharge dyeing, stamping, stitching and generally having fun creating whatever took my fancy. I plan to work on some art quilts for exhibitions in 2010 and this is the beginning. here are some of the results...

creative weekend

I've had a lovely creative weekend getting ready for the Quota craft fair in Yamba on the 3rd & 4th october. these birdies, are made from vintage linen and lace - I've also made xmas trees and hearts. the brighter ones are made from pieces of my machine embroidery. I hope someone will like them to decorate their xmas tree this year!
